PIT.24.III

$2,400.00
OXIDIZED METAL WITH CERAMIC FACEPLATE
FINISH: EMBER SMOKE DIMENSIONS: 15 H x 12 W BUILT IN: BROOKLYN, NEW YORK ELECTRICAL: HARDWIRE OR PLUGIN WITH DIMMER

Like its companions in the ARKHE OBJECT pit fired collection, this piece emerged from clay surrendering to gravity's pull as it formed its folded silhouette frozen in time. A natural ivory clay body grounds the surface, as rusty flames of siena cascade in rhythmic patterns. Delicate ash gray appears along the edges, overlapping the terracotta traces and the alabaster ground. Through pit firing at The Oki Doki Studio in the Hudson Valley, these distinctive markings emerged from locally harvested botanicals and mineral elements transformed by fire, creating a permanent record of foraged and reclaimed organic materials.

Mounted on hand welded backing crafted by Taylor Forrest Studios in New York's Hudson Valley, the piece is completed by custom metalwork oxidized to a deep gunmetal black. The sculpture is illuminated by dimmable LED lighting, offering control over its luminous presence, and can be configured for either hardwire installation or plug in convenience.
